Road Vehicles (Transport Of Chemicals) 70. Mr. Awbery asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware of the danger of vehicles carrying dangerous chemicals such as nitric and sulphuric acids and the ever-increasing size of these bulk-carrying vehicles; and if he will take steps to reduce the danger to the public by limiting the amount of such chemicals which can be carried in them. Mr. R. A. Butler The Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations, 1955, made by the Minister of Transport, place a limit on the laden weight of a vehicle, and I have no reason to think that further action is necessary in this respect.
