Equal Pay Bill Order for Second Reading read. 3.59 p.m. Mr. Douglas Houghton (Sowerby) I beg to move, "That the Bill be now read a Second time." This Bill does no more than I said it would when the House gave me leave to introduce it on 9th March. I sincerely hope that the House will fulfil the pledges which it has given over the last 25 years to establish the principle of equal pay. Lieut.-Colonel Marcus Lipton (Brixton) I beg to second the Motion. Sir Edward Boyle (Birmingham, Handsworth) It would be a very great pity if we proceeded with the Second Reading of this Bill without a little more explanation. It being Four o'clock, the debate stood adjourned. Debate to be resumed upon Friday, 21st May.
