Travel-To-Work Costs Mr. Arthur Lewis asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the fact that many of the poorer paid workers are having to pay as much as 20 per cent. to 25 per cent. of their weekly earnings on the cost of their fares to and from work, whether he will in his forthcoming Budget give consideration to fares to and from work being a deductible tax expense, or to a fixed allowance being granted for such purposes.
