asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects the current bypass schemes in west Sussex to start.

Construction of the A27 schemes for the Havant-Chichester improvement and the Fontwell bypass has already begun. The start of works on three other A27 bypasses and two major A23 improvement schemes in west Sussex is subject to the completion of the statutory procedures. Construction of the Brighton bypass could begin next year.
