Personal Consumption Mr. Lawson asked the Chancellor on the Exchequer, on the basis of the public expenditure projections contained in the latest Public Expenditure White Paper, Command Paper No. 6393, and of the other assumptions embodied in the table in that White Paper headed, "The Growth and Use of Resources", what would be the average annual increase in privately financed personal consumption in the period covered by that table if the average annual increase in gross domestic product were (a) 2 per cent., and (b) 1¾ per cent. Mr. Joel Barnett No estimates of the average annual increase in privately financed personal consumption for 1974–79 are available for average annual increases in gross domestic product of 2 per cent. and 1¾ per cent. respectively.
