Price Indices

Mr. Richard Wainwright
asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if he will list in the Official Report the respective rises in the retail price index and the wholesale price index over the past 12 months.

The rise in the retail price index between 17th February 1976 and 15th February 1977 was 162 per cent. According to provisional figures, the wholesale price index for all manufactured products rose by 20¼ per cent. in the 12 months to March 1977.
