Mr. Rifkind The United States is committed to the implementation of Security Council resolution 435, and we support its efforts to achieve this. United States influence is helpful in efforts to bring Namibia to internationally recognised independence. 51. Mr. Tony Banks asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he has any plans to meet representatives of the transitional Government being established in Namibia on 17 June.
