 "That a further sum not exceeding £436,410 be granted to Her Majesty, on account, for or towards defraying the charge for the following Civil Services, to the 31st day of March, 1877." [Then the respective Services are set forth.]

MR. BUTT
said, he would move to report Progress, as the Votes before them involved some important questions in connection with education in Ireland.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Chairman do report Progress, and ask leave to sit again."—( Mr. Butt.)

SIR MICHAEL HICKS-BEACH
appealed to the Committee to go on with the Estimates, or else there would be considerable inconvenience entailed in the payment of school teachers' salaries.
