Health Authorities (Spending) Mr. Wigley To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will publish a table showing for each of the health regions in England (a) the gross revenue spending per head of population and (b) the capital spending per head of population for the year 1989–90 and the corresponding allocations for 1990–91. Mr. Dorrell The 1989–90 annual accounts are not yet due for submission to the Department and information derived from them will not be available until the autumn. It is not possible to publish comparable figures for allocations in 1990–91. This is because allocations to health authorities are made on a net basis and exclude such things as income generation receipts, Iand sales, etc. Details of net allocations per head of population, for both revenue and capital, are given in the table.------------------- |Region | ------------------- | | ------------------- |Northern | ------------------- |Yorkshire | ------------------- |Trent | ------------------- |East Anglian | ------------------- |North West Thames| ------------------- |North East Thames| ------------------- |South East Thames| ------------------- |South West Thames| ------------------- |Wessex | ------------------- |Oxford | ------------------- |South Western | ------------------- |West Midlands | ------------------- |Mersey | ------------------- |North Western | ------------------- |England | ------------------- Notes: At initial cash allocation levels.
