Lucas-Tooth asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total amount which has been paid into the special account established by the Italian Government under Article 79 of the Italian Peace Treaty and the Anglo-Italian Financial Agreement of 17th April, 1947, for the purpose of meeting debts owing from Italians to British citizens; what is the number and total amount of such debts which have been paid; what is the number and amount of those outstanding; and what is the total amount which has been withdrawn or released from the special account for purposes other than meeting such debts.
