Police Cells Mr. Redmond To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will provide figures for each month, from May onwards, for the number of remand prisoners and newly sentenced prisoners being held in police cells in the three counties of Yorkshire and Humberside police authority areas who would normally have been housed in Her Majesty's prison establishments; and if he will show in his answer by month (a) the location of the police cells, (b) their sex and (c) the number of prisoners they have had under their care.
