Royal Ulster Constabulary (Pay) Mr. Wm Ross asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) what is the hourly rate for constables for each of the first five years of service in the Royal Ulster Constabulary; and when the rates were last raised;(2) what is the hourly rate for members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve for each rank; how many officers there are at each rank; and when the rates were last raised. Part-time members of the Reserve receive an annual bounty of £24 for a minimum of four hours' duty each month, and 91p for each additional hour of duty. The annual bounty took effect from 1st December 1974 and the currently hourly rate for part-time members from 1st December 1976. All members of the RUC Reserve serve in the rank of constable.The strength of the Reserve at 31st March 1977 was 4,673.
