Territorial Force Major HOPE asked the Secretary of State for War whether, under Army Orders of 1st April, 1911, colour-sergeants appointed to the Territorial Force after 31st August, 1910, draw 3s. 6d. per diem pay of rank, while those colour-sergeants appointed to the Territorial Force before that day only receive 3s. per diem; and whether he will grant to all colour-sergeants serving with the Territorial Forces 3s. 6d. per diem, so that a few senior colour-sergeants shall not receive less pay than their juniors of the same rank while performing the same duties? Colonel SEELY The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part I would refer the hon. and gallant Gentleman to the reply to a similar question put by the hon. and learned Gentleman the Member for West Edinburgh on 16th November, 1911.
