Northern Ireland Assembly Disqualification Bill Lords Order for Second Reading read. 12.24 a.m. The Parliamentary Secretary to the Law Officers' Department (Mr. Arthur Davidson) I beg to move, That the Bill be now read a Second time. This Bill consolidates that part of the House of Commons Disqualification Act 1957 and one or two other measures which deal with disqualification for the Northern Ireland Assembly. It is a purely consolidation measure, a simple Bill, and I do not think I need to go into it in any great detail. It is self-explanatory. Mr. Teddy Taylor (Glasgow, Cathcart) I have been asked by the Opposision to welcome the Bill and to say that we agree that it is purely a consolidation measure. Question put and agreed to. Bill accordingly read a Second time. Bill committed to a Committee of the whole House.—[ Mr. Coleman.] Bill immediately considered in Committee. [Sir MYER GALPERN in the Chair] Clauses 1 to 6 ordered to stand part of the Bill.
