Drinking Water Mr. Graham To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the number of drinking water supplies in Scotland that reach the level of the EEC directive on drinking water; and if he will name them. Lord James Douglas-Hamilton [holding answer 22 July 1991]: There are 331 public water supply zones in Scotland assessed as meeting the requirements of the EC drinking water directive, which are now incorporated into the Water Supply (Water Quality) (Scotland) Regulations 1990.
