asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the alterations to the road signs on the A74, as announced in Parliament on 30th July, will be completed.

The modification of existing signs has already been carried out. A74 repeater signs should be in position within a month or so.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will raise the establishment of the Dumfries and Galloway police, and the Strathclyde police, and provide additional financial resources, in  order to permit them to comply with his policy to increase their road traffic patrols on the A74.
