Butchers (European Community Directives)

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list  in the Official Report the EEC directives which affect the way in which butcher shops are run.

The Community has adopted several directives designed to protect animal and public health which affect the production of meat and meat products, but none of these extends to control of butchers' shops.
