"Dreadnought" Construction (Men Employed)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what would be the average number of skilled and unskilled workmen, respectively, employed on the construction of a "Dreadnought" from the time her keel was laid down till she was ready for sea; "what is the total estimated cost of the construction of such a ship and her completion with guns stores, ammunition, etc., ready for sea and what proportion of such cost would be paid in wages; and whether all the workmen employed would be British and all the guns, stores, etc., British made, or, if not, what proportion of either respectively?

I must refer the hon. Member to the reply circulated to the same question on the 14th May.

Cromarty Firth (Floating Dock)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, in view of the fact that His Majesty's Fleet frequently visits Cromarthy Firth and lies off Invergordon, where there is ample anchorage for the largest vessels afloat, will he consider the expediency of establishing a floating dock off that town, seeing that it is on the main line of railway and in direct communication with both the north and south, and forms an excellent base for coaling and other purposes?

I must refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Baronet the Member for the Wick Burghs on Monday, the 10th May.

Oil Fuel (Torpedo Boats)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many ships and vessels of all classes are wholly or partially fitted to burn oil fuel; whether any ships are fitted to convey oil to vessels at sea, and, if so, how many; and what is the radius of action at 10 knots of the oil-fuel torpedo-boats, originally called coastal destroyers?

I am afraid I must ask the Noble Lord to defer this question, as I have not been able to obtain the information required to enable me to answer it to-day.
