Labour Exchanges (Official Salaries)

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is the minimum salary of a manager of a Labour Exchange; and how many Labour Exchanges in England and Wales are in charge of men under the rank of manager and receiving a remuneration less than the minimum salary of a manager?

The larger Exchanges are under the charge of officers, formally graded as managers, at scales of salaries from £150 upwards. The smaller Exchanges and sub-offices are under the charge of officers formally graded as clerks, and the salary usually paid to such officers ranges from £110 to £150. There are 176 Exchanges in England and Wales now under the charge of officers of this latter grade.
