asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the services of the members of the Australian cadet company now visiting this country have been offered to the Government, and have they been accepted?

Captain Rushall, the officer in charge of the contingent of Australian Mounted Cadets at present in this country, has offered his services and those of the contingent to His Majesty's Government for the remaining period of their stay in England. This generous offer has been communicated to the War Office, and I am at present in communication with the Department with a view to the employment of this efficient body upon some useful and congenial duty.

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether the dependants of Reservists employed at the Royal Aircraft Factory and called up for service are to receive half wages in addition to the Army separation allowance; and, if so, why no payment has yet been made?

Reservists employed at the Royal Aircraft Factory and called up for service are being treated on the same lines as all other Government employés. They are entitled to civil pay less Army or Navy pay, calculated at 7s., and less separation allowance. Payment has been made to the dependants nominated by Reservists. I have ascertained that payment has already been made on these lines in the majority of cases, but there may be exceptional cases where, owing to lack of information, payment is still outstanding. If the hon. Member has any specific case in mind, I will have inquiries made.

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland when the construction of the Gorey garden city will be proceeded with?

The Local Government Board hope to be in a position to sanction the requisite loan in the course of the week, when the council furnish them with the plans of the cottages, and particulars as to two plots at Camolin also included in their application for the loan. The Board are writing to the clerk of the council on the subject.
