No complaints have reached the War Office regarding the adequacy of rations supplied to any unit of the Army at the front.

asked whether medical officers who have joined the Territorial Force since the outbreak of War are receiving a higher rate of pay than those who joined previously; and, if so, whether arrangements will be made to give equal pay to all medical officers of the same rank?

Certain civilian medical practitioners appointed to temporary commissions are receiving a higher rate of pay. It is sometimes necessary to give higher rates to those commissioned on emergency, but it is not intended to make this universal.

asked the Under-Secretary for War, if he would state for the months of September, October, November, and December respectively, the cost of manufacturing bread per four pounds at Aldershot, stating what average price was paid for flour in each of these months; and how the cost figures are arrived at?

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office why a soldier's dependant, who previous to the enlistment of her husband lived in Shropshire, and who since has gone to live in London, is not allowed the extra London rent allowance?

The extra allowance was a concession to those who were living in London on mobilisation, and it was not considered necessary to give it to those who might move subsequently to London of their own choice.
