Taxation
asked the Prime Minister whether he is now able to promise a new Budget and increased taxation in the course of the present Session?
The answer is in the negative.
Is the seriousness of the position and the desire of many people, even of those of property, to pay higher taxes in this emergency being considered?
My attention has not been specially called to that aspect of the case, except by the hon. Member, but my hon. Friend does not need to be told that any Chancellor of the Exchequer must be constantly giving attention to the whole subject.
