ROYAL NAVY (PENSIONER INSTRUCTORS, CHATHAM).

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the new arrangements in connection with the training of engine-room artificer apprentices at Chatham will result in the discharge of ex-service pensioners who have been employed as instructors in the mechanical training establishment at Chatham; and, if so, how many of these pensioners are being discharged and for what reason?

Six pensioner instructors will be discharged at Chatham owing to the transfer of the mechanicians course to Devonport. The reason for discharge is that they will become redundant upon the transfer. A similar number of pensioner instructors will be engaged at Devonport.
