Aviation, Oxford

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will take measures to abate the nuisance caused to the citizens of Oxford by the continuous flying of aviators who, at all hours and on all days, Sunday included, circle over the central area of Oxford city, flying at law altitudes and with great noise?

The two civil aviation companies operating in the vicinity of Oxford have been requested to ensure that their aeroplanes, in passing over the city, should fly at such a height as to lessen the inconvenience caused by the noise of the machines. I hope that no further cause for complaint will arise.

Royal Navy (Vocational Courses)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty the exact amount of fees paid by men taking vocational courses during the current year?

The information for the current year is not yet available. The total amount of fees paid by students during the financial year ending 31st March, 1927, was £2,100.

Industrial Disputes (Time Lost)

asked the Minister of Labour whether he can state for any period of years the total number of working days, the number of days lost owing to industrial disputes, the number lost owing to sickness, the number lost owing to unemployment and the number lost owing to any other causes?

I would refer the hon. Member to the passage on "Time Lost in Industry," on pages 164 to 166 of the "Survey of Industrial Relations" prepared by the Committee on industry and Trade.

Licensed Premises, Scotland

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will issue a statement showing the hours of opening and closing of all licensed premises for the sale of liquor in Scotland, including any variation of hours during the summer months?

I regret I am not in a position to furnish the information asked for.
