Questions
Teachers' Pensions
asked the President of the Board of Education the amount per head of population distributed in teachers' pensions in 1926–27?
The amount per head of population (1921 Census) distributed in respect of teachers' pensions in England and Wales, in 1926–27, was 2s.O¼d.
India (Prisoners)
asked the Undersecretary of State for India how many people have been executed in India during the last 30 years for their political views; and how many political cases in India are at present awaiting trial, especially in Bengal?
The answer to the first part of the question is "none." As regards the second part, apart from the difficulty of satisfactorily defining a "political case," my Noble Friend doubts whether he would be justified in initiating the inquiry from the officials, of every district in British India which would be necessary to give an accurate answer.
