Business Of Courts Committee (Recommendations)

asked the Attorney-General whether he has yet considered the various reforms proposed in the interim Report of the Committee of Judges; and, if so, whether it is intended to introduce any legislation in this connection during the current Session?

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave on the 15th instant. to questions by the hon. Members for Flintshire (Mr. Llewellyn-Jones) and Cardiff East (Mr. Morris).

Poor Law Relief

asked the Minister of Health whether the Government, in order to prepare their legislative proposals affecting the maintenance of those outside the scope of the Unemployment Insurance Acts, will take steps to ascertain local opinion on the subject of the recommendations of the Royal Commission; and whether the views of Bradford City Council will be obtained

The Government are already in possession of the views expressed by the representative associations of the local authorities concerned upon the recommendations of the Royal Commission.

British Industries Fair

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department what was the total attendance at all sections of the British Industries Fair this year; how such attendances compared with previous years; and whether any information is yet available as to the results of the exhibition?

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Walthamstow West (Mr. McEntee) on 6th March, together with my replies to supplementary questions, of all of which I am sending him a copy.

Raspberry Marketing Scheme, Scotland

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of producers who it is estimated would be eligible for registration under the proposed raspberry marketing scheme?

The total number of growers of raspberries in Scotland, as returned on 4th June, 1932, is 937. Of these, 433 grew in that year more than one acre, and 504 grew one acre or less. The latter are entitled to exemption from the provisions of the scheme, but may nevertheless be registered as producers, without the right of voting at the initial poll on the question whether the scheme shall remain in force. Manufacturers who grow raspberries for their own use and not for sale are in the same position.

Housing (Assessments)

asked the Minister of Health if he can give any information as to the nature of the communication sent by the Central Valuation Committee to local authorities regarding the assessment of houses upon which work has been done as a result of local campaigns to relieve unemployment?

A copy of the Circular which has been published in the Press has been forwarded to my hon. Friend.
