Royal Navy (Ships, Costs)
asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what is the cost of the latest type of battleship, battle cruiser, destroyer, light cruiser, and submarine, respectively; what proportion of the cost is due to labour, material, and establishment charges, respectively; what is the approximate annual cost, in the case of each type, of wages, salaries, victualling, clothing, repairs, maintenance and other expenses, respectively; and how these costs compare with those of 1928?
No battleship or battle cruiser has been built during the period 1928–1934. The cost of the latest vessels of these types was:
- Battleship "Rodney" (completed 1927)—£6,148,319.
- Battle cruiser "Hood" (completed 1920)—£5,698,946.

Poor Law Relief (Test Work)
asked the Minister of Health, whether he will state the nature of the tasks imposed on casuals by Poor Law authorities in England and Wales and the length of the same, respectively?
This matter is governed by Article 10 and the Second Schedule of the Public Assistance (Casual Poor) Order of March 16th, 1931, of which I am forwarding my hon. Friend a copy. A number of Vagrancy Committees have rules, made under Articles 7 (b) of the Order, which provide for the discharge on the morning after admission of men

Disarmament Conference (Chairman's Allowances)
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the total amount paid to the chairman of the Disarmament Conference for personal allowances and entertainment expenses, respectively, since the beginning of the Conference up to the latest date?
It has been necessary to refer to Geneva in order to obtain this information. I will communicate with the hon. Member when it is received.
