Sundayentertainments (All-In Wrestling)
asked the Home Secretary whether, seeing that all-in wrestling on Sundays for which payment for admission is made is outside the scope of the Sunday Entertainments Act, 1932, he will state what steps are to be taken for enforcing the law or, alternatively, under what statutory provision these exhibitions are now being permitted?
I am not aware of any statutory provisions bearing on the subject, 'apart from those of the Sunday Observance Act, 1780. The enforcement of those provisions has never been regarded as a matter for the police, but it is of course open to any person to sue for penalties under it. I agree that the position is not entirely satisfactory, and I propose to go into it further.
Palestine(Port And Railway Facilities)
asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is to be the expenditure during the current year by the Palestine Government on improving the storage and transit facilities for citrus fruit.
I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Whitechapel (Mr. Janner) on 13th May, of which I am sending him a copy. Final figures of the expenditure in question are not yet available.
Transport
Traffic Lights
asked the Minister of Transport if his attention has been drawn to the great variation in the duration of the showing of the amber light at light-controlled crossings; and what steps he is taking to ensure that the amber light is displayed for a uniform and sufficient period?
The period of duration of the amber light is calculated with reference to the particular traffic conditions of each case. If, however, my hon. Friend has any specific instance in mind where he thinks that the period is unsatisfactory, I will be glad to know.
Road Accidents (Analysis)
asked the Minister of Transport whether it is proposed to publish in respect of 1934 a detailed report on the cause of fatal road accidents similar to the report in respect of 1933?
A comprehensive analysis is being made of all fatal road accidents for the present year, and will be published.
Restricted And Derestricted Roads
asked the Minister of Transport whether he can furnish an estimate of the mileage of roads in Great Britain which are and are not, respectively, affected by the speed limit of 30 miles per hour?
I am asking local authorities to furnish me with these particulars. In view of the number of proposals for derestricting roads with which I am being called upon to deal, I would prefer, as I recently informed my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Clitheroe (Sir W. Brass), to allow the position to become more stabilised before giving these figures.
Smalld Wellings Acquisition Acts
asked the Minister of Health the number of local authorities now exercising their powers under the Small Dwellings Asquisition Acts; the names of those authorities not exercising these powers; and the total amounts loaned during the past three years?
I will send the hon. Member the statement he desires as soon as it can be prepared.
asked the Minister of Health the highest and lowest rates of interest paid by borrowers under the Small Dwellings Asquisition Acts?
The highest rate chargeable on advances made under these Acts since the War has been 6½per cent.; the lowest is the current rate of 3½ per cent.

Proposals are under consideration for the establishment of an armament training camp and an aerodrome in connection therewith at Hell's Mouth in Carnarvonshire. Generally speaking, however, the terrain in Wales and Monmouthshire is unsuitable for the construction of aerodromes.
Airport (City Of London)
asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether any, and what, steps have been taken towards the establishment of a central airport for London?
This question is being actively investigated by the City Lands Committee of the Corporation of London, who are to report to the Common Council upon the possibility of providing an airport within or near the City of London.?
Naval And Military Pensions And Grants
asked the Minister of Pensions how many cases have been brought to his notice in the last 12 months in which deserted wives have asked for help in tracing their pensioned ex-service husbands, against whom maintenance orders have been issued; and what is the attitude of his Department towards the disclosure of such addresses when the police are searching for the men concerned?
The records of my Department do not enable me to give the figure asked for in the first part of the question. With regard to the second part, while it is clearly in the interests of pensioners generally that all information obtained for the purposes of my administration should be treated as confidential, addresses would be given, in confidence, to the police in these exceptional cases.
