Meat Imports (Irish Lamb)
asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether his attention has been drawn to the losses caused to transport service and labour by the disparity in charges on live lambs and carcases imported from the Irish Free State; and what action he proposes to take?
I cannot at present add anything to the reply given on my behalf to a similar question by the hon. Member for the Scotland Division of Liverpool (Mr. Logan) on 6th June.
Unemployment (Special Areas)
asked the Minister of Labour whether he can now give the date when it is expected that a report in connection with the work in special areas will be published?
My predecessor informed my hon. Friend on 30th April that the Commissioner proposed to submit a report on his work up to the end of this month. I understand that this is still his intention, but I am unable to give the date when I shall receive it or when it will be published.
Territorial Army (Adjutancies)
asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is aware that Royal Artillery officers are often unwilling to take up adjutancies in the Territorial Army, owing to the allowances not covering the extra cost involved and the difficulties of arranging for suitable officers to be posted voluntarily unless in possession of private means; and can he make any statement on the subject?
I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that the question of the supply of officers to fill the appointments of adjutant to Royal Artillery and other units of the Territorial Army is constantly under review in all its bearings. I have no statement to make on the subject at the moment.
Public Elementary Schools, Wales (Milk Supply)
asked the President of the Board of Education the number of education authorities in Wales which have and which have not, respectively, adopted the Milk Marketing Board scheme of supplying cheap milk to school children?
Milk is being provided under the Milk Marketing Board's scheme in some or all of the public elementary schools in the areas of 28 of the 30 Welsh local education authorities. In the remaining two areas milk is being provided in some of the schools, but not under the Milk Marketing Board's scheme.

Fowl Plague And Newcastle Disease
asked the Minister of Agriculture in what countries, Dominions, or Colonies, the diseases of fowl plague and Newcastle disease have been known to exist during the last two years?
I regret that the information at my disposal does not enable me to give the details asked for. I understand, however, that Newcastle disease is widespread in the Far East, and fowl plague is known to be fairly widespread in the Near East. One or other of these diseases occurs also in other parts of the Continent of Europe. Neither disease has been diagnosed in this country since August, 1933.
Warble Fly
asked the Minister of Agriculture whether his examination of the damage and loss caused by the warble fly is complete; and whether it is his intention to introduce legislation to deal with this matter?
I regret that there is nothing I can usefully add to the reply which I gave on 9th April to a question on this subject by the hon. and gallant Member for Carnarvon (Major Owen).
Male Servant Licences
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the number of licences for male servants issued for the last completed year and for a similar period in 1913?
The number of male servant licences issued for the financial year ended 31st March, 1934, was 172,900, and for the year ended 31st March, 1914, 248,277.
