Death of King George V
It having pleased Almighty God to take to His mercy Our late Most Gracious Sovereign Lord King George of blessed memory, who departed this life yesterday between the hours of eleven and twelve of the clock in the evening, at Sandringham House.
At Six of the Clock the House met pursuant to the Succession to the Crown Act, 1707, Mr. SPEAKER in the Chair.
Several Members came into the House. And His late Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, and others, having met this day at St. James's Palace, and having directed that His Royal Highness Edward, Prince of Wales, be proclaimed King to-morrow morning at Ten of the Clock by the Style and Title of Edward the Eighth—
alone, took and subscribed the Oath.
Then several Members took and subscribed the Oath or made and subscribed the Affirmation required by Law.

Right Honourable Hugh Richard Heathcote Cecil, commonly called Lord Hugh Cecil, for Oxford University.
