Refugees

asked the Home Secretary whether, in the arrangements made for alien refugees now in England, the stateless Jews will rank as Czechs or Germans?

Refugees from Germany and Austria who were nationals of those countries are registered as either Germans or Austrians and must therefore be so classified for the purpose of the review of all German and Austrian cases, notwithstanding that they may have been deprived of German nationality by some German law. Similarly, if there are any nationals of the former Republic of Czecho-Slovakia who have by German law been deprived of their nationality, they will nevertheless be classified here as Czecho-Slovakians.
