My right hon. Friend has asked me to reply. I am aware that this method of publicity has been adopted, with good results, in certain cases. It is one of many measures of industrial publicity which have been recommended to me and which I am now considering.

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is satisfied that the handling of the recent case of two Cheshire Home Guards will be in the best interests of discipline in that force?

Yes, Sir. I would refer my hon. Friend to an answer I gave in the House on this subject on 13th April of which I am sending him a copy.

asked the Minister of Health when the committee which is making a comprehensive survey of all existing schemes of social insurance and assistance is likely to make a report; and whether it is likely that such a report will be made before the end of the war?

I have been asked to reply. The committee's investigation covers a very wide field and necessarily involves the hearing of evidence and the consideration of memoranda from a large number of authorities, associations, etc. In the circumstances I should not feel justified in expecting the chairman to indicate a definite date for the report, but with a view to its presentation before the end of September next it is important that all the bodies interested in the work of the committee and desiring to present their views should do so with the minimum of delay.
