Farms, Scotland (Electricity)
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the percentage of farms which have now been connected with mains electricity in the Clyde, Glasgow, Dumfries and Galloway, Ayrshire, and Lanarkshire sub-areas of South-West Scotland, respectively.
The figures asked for are 83, 100, 62, 62 and 73 respectively and are made up as follows:

Notes:
1. Glasgow sub-area is almost entirely urban.
2. Lanarkshire sub-area includes, as well as the whole county of Lanark, parts of Renfrewshire, Dunbartonshire, Stirlingshire and Glasgow.
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the percentage of farms which had been connected with mains electricity by January, 1952, and by January, 1953, in South-West Scotland and in Lanarkshire, respectively.
As the local electricity board's operational year runs from 1st April to 31st March following, I hope that percentages supplied on that basis will be suitable for my hon. Friend's purpose. The figures are:
