asked the Chief Secretary to the Treasury whether it is intended to appoint an economist to the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research.

Motor Cars (Passenger Safety Belts)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Treasury whether the results of the further investigation made by the Research Laboratory of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research into the effect of car safety belts on personal injury accidents will be published.

The report was published in the September 1963 issue of The Practitioner and I am arranging for a copy of the article to be sent to my hon. Friend and for copies to be placed in the Library of the House.
