Venison: Export Figures
asked Her Majesty's Government:What has been the value of venison exported from Britain during 1977, or as near as possible to convenient dates.
I regret that figures are not available in sufficient detail to enable exports of venison to be identified separately from exports of other game. However, informal estimates suggest that about 2,000 tonnes of venison were exported from Britain last year. It is not possible to make any accurate estimate of the value of this meat at the point of export.
Venison: Registered Dealers
asked Her Majesty's Government:What is the number of registered dealers in venison at the present time (
a) in Scotland, and ( b) in England.
There are 165 registered dealers in venison in Scotland at the present time although by no means all of these actually trade in venison to any extent. In England, registration of dealers in venison is not required under the Game Laws.
Local Authority Homes And The Disabled
asked Her Majesty's Government:What is the average cost per week for a disabled person in a local authority home, for adults and for children.
Social Services Statistics Estimates for 1977–78 published by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy give the following average costs per person per week in England for accommodation provided in various types of local authority homes:—

These figures exclude capital charges and the cost of administration. Individual homes may house residents in more than one category, since local authorities make flexible use of their accommodation.
The only available figure for homes for disabled children relates to homes for those who are mentally handicapped. The cost in a local authority community home for children, where the number who are disabled is likely to be small, is £64·47.
Unfair Dismissal Claims
asked Her Majesty's Government:Whether they can produce figures for the number of claims upheld for unfair dismissal and the number of claims dismissed, for each year since the 1974 Employment Protection Act came into force.
Complaints of unfair dismissal are brought under Schedule 1 to the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974. Following is the information requested:—
