I acknowledge the feelings of loyalty towards Britain among the Banabans during the two wars but regret that no official information on the amounts of their wartime contributions is readily available.

We believe that there may be a number of Soviet military advisers in Vietnam. We have no evidence of any foreign armed forces being there in divisional strength.

asked Her Majesty's Government:Whether they have any information about the alleged abuse of psychiatry in Vietnam for purposes of political repression, and if so whether they are taking action to prevent abuses continuing.

We have not previously heard of these allegations and have no information in corroboration. Such practices would be in violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, but so far Vietnam has not yet ratified this Covenant.

asked Her Majesty's Government:What tie or connection with the United Kingdom has Mr. Vladimir Rezun, a Soviet citizen who was given leave to enter this country as a refugee on or about 27th June.

Mr. Rezun applied for and was granted asylum after his entry into the United Kingdom. The question of ties or connections with this country may not arise in such circumstances.

asked Her Majesty's Government:Whether they will state the total cost of completing the national headquarters of the Child Benefit Centre at Emerson, Washington, Tyne and Wear opened in April 1976; and (a) what was the cost per square metre of floor-space; (b) how many staff are employed; (c) are the buildings fully occupied.

£5·9 million. The cost per square metre of agents letting area was just over £344. About 1,000 staff work at Emerson at present. The buildings will not be fully occupied until a transfer of work from the Newcastle Central Office has been completed.

asked Her Majesty's Government:How many households in Blindley Heath, Surrey, were individually notified of the proposal to erect an aircraft engine servicing and testing unit in the village, and on what dates.

I understand from Tandridge District Council that over 80 residential occupiers were individually notified on 16th August 1976 of both the proposed development and the local inquiry arrangements.House adjourned at twenty-two minutes before nine o'clock.
