Sterling Exchange Rate Index
asked Her Majesty's Government:When the so-called "basket of currencies" Sterling Exchange Rate Index last stood at 100, what were the index figures for each constituent currency at that date and again at the most recently available date; and what was the dollar exchange rate of each of those currencies on both dates.
Sterling's Exchange Rate Index last stood at 100 on 2nd April 1981. The other data requested are as follows:

Industrial Disputes
asked Her Majesty's Government:How many stoppages of work due to industrial disputes known to be official took place in each year from 1963 to the most recent year for which figures are available, how many workers were involved and how many working days lost, and for each year what percentage each figure represented of the total for all stoppages.
The available information is given in the table below. Details of stoppages known to be official ceased to be published after 1981 due to the practical difficulties in distinguishing stoppages as official or otherwise.
