asked Her Majesty's Government:What research they are conducting on the availability and condition of sites for gypsies and travellers; whether additional accommodation is needed; and whether, in any such study, they will investigate the possible demand for group housing such as is provided for travellers in the Republic of Ireland. [HL160]

My department will be commissioning research on this subject early in 2001, asking for a report by the summer of 2002. The research will investigate whether additional accommodation of all kinds, including group housing, is required.
