There have been no recent discussions with broadcasters about talking menus. However, a talking Electronic Programme guide is being developed by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and its industry partners. My Department is keeping this development under review and will consider the case for including the new equipment in the Digital Switchover Help Scheme at a suitable point in the future.
